Studio RK Styles Joan Rivers’ Hair for Local Fundraising Event
FORT MYERS, Fla. (Sept. 6, 2007) – Studio RK Salon stylist Kim Cornell had a brush with fame when she styled comedian Joan Rivers’ hair before the Arts for ACT fundraising event on Aug. 18. Rivers was the guest auctioneer at the event, held at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa.
Cornell has been styling hair at Studio RK for four years. One of her current clients, who is associated with the nonprofit organization Abuse Counseling and Treatment, Inc. (ACT), recommended her to style Rivers’ hair because of her outgoing personality and expertise in trendy hairstyles. Rivers requested a sleek and sassy bob, which Cornell styled in her hotel room.
“It was a rewarding experience. Ms. Rivers was a true pleasure,” Cornell said. “I hope I have the opportunity to work on more celebrities’ hair.”
Studio RK Salon is located in Fort Myers at 6420 Plantation Park Court, Suite 102, just off Daniels Parkway. Hours of operation are Monday-Thursday 8:30 a.m.-8 p.m., Friday 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m.-7 p.m.
