About me? |
I was born and raised in Fort Myers, Fl, where I attended cosmetology school and received my license in 2001. My grandmother was a stylist for over 20 years, then chose to teach cosmetology school. She inspired me to follow in her footsteps. I grew up loving all things beauty–related. In addition to doing hair, I’ve worked at a make-up counter, sold skin care, did facial and body waxing, and managed a salon in Ft Lauderdale. I moved to the East Coast in 2004 where I lived for 2 years. I came back to Ft Myers when I learned I was having a baby. My son was born in 2006 and I was able to stay home with him for almost 2 years. When it was time to come back to work, I applied at Studio RK. I’ve been here for 3 years now and I love it!!

I’ve been fortunate to attend classes instructed by Redken’s finest: Patrick McIver and Daniel Doud for color, Sam Villa for cutting, Kris Sorbie and Giovanni for styling. I received lots of makeup instruction, as well as experience, from my time at the make-up counter. |
What inspires me? |
individuality and confidence. I love when people can incorporate their personality into their style. The best thing to me is when someone has achieved a “look” that only they can pull off (especially when they do it so well, people want to look like them). It can be any “look” from funky to classy, but it should reflect confidence in who they are. |

What I most enjoy about being a Studio RK Team Member? |
The girls (and guy) I work with. Sometimes people ask me if it’s difficult working with so many girls and the answer is NOT AT ALL!! We have a true sense of teamwork and support that makes coming to work fun! Plus, we all share a passion for this industry and a commitment to quality. |
Random fact about myself? |
I attended Edison College and Florida State with the intention of becoming a lawyer, until I discovered my need for creativity. I can say my alphabet backwards – like starting with Z and ending with A. I’m addicted to Free Cell on my phone. I love Glee. Red is my favorite color. And I wish I had something more interesting to say here, but I can’t think of anything…. |
Favorite products? |
Ff course, it depends on the hair, but I like Redken Guts for volume. Pureology’s smoothing elixir is great for fine hair that frizzes. Moroccan Oil is amazing on long, thick hair. And Redken’s Forceful hairspray is fabulous for almost anyone. It gives buildable, moldable hold without crunchy stiffness or helmet head. |
